Description Griffin Brothers is looking for a Heavy Equipment Preventive Maintenance Service Technician who is a skilled professional who inspects, services, and repairs heavy machinery to prevent breakdowns and ensure efficient operation. Their duties include performing scheduled maintenance like lubrication and oil changes, using diagnostic tools to identify issues, and making necessary repairs on equipment like excavators, bulldozers, and lifts. This role requires strong mechanical and problem-solving skills, familiarity with hydraulic and electrical systems, and often a technical diploma or relevant certifications. Key responsibilities Preventive maintenance: Conduct routine checks and tasks, such as changing fluids, lubricating moving parts, and tightening connections, to extend equipment lifespan and prevent future problems. Troubleshooting and repair: Diagnose and fix mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues using both traditional tools and computerized diagnostic equipment. Equipment upkeep: Maintain a variety of heavy machinery used in the landfill. Record keeping: Keep detailed logs of maintenance activities and repairs. Safety compliance: Ensure all work is performed in accordance with safety regulations. Essential skills and qualifications Mechanical aptitude: A strong understanding of how machinery works. Troubleshooting abilities: The capacity to identify and solve problems, often under pressure. Technical knowledge: Familiarity with hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems. Tool proficiency: Experience with hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment. Attention to detail: Meticulous in performing checks and repairs to ensure accuracy and safety. Problem-solving: Ability to analyze a situation and determine the best course of action for repair. Work environment Environment: The work can be physically demanding and may take place in noisy and dirty environments, such as repair shops or active job sites. Requirements Must be able to travel between landfills, a company vehicle will be supplied. Valid driver’s license with a clean record, deemed insurable by our carrier. Minimum age of 21
