Role Purpose: Wolfe’s Field Service Technicians are responsible for all aspects of in the field and onsite repairs to machines and equipment that we build to ensure the ongoing reliability of Wolfe products. The Field Service Technicians will conduct preventative and corrective maintenance as per issued work orders, in a prompt, professional and courteous manner.
Reports To: Service Manager

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:

  • Heavy Equipment Technician license (an asset) (similar trade certification, or education will be considered)
  • 5+ years of heavy equipment service experience
  • Proficient computer skills, Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Excel)
  • Excellent relationship management, interpersonal and communication skills
  • Adaptable, willing to work flexible shifts to meet customer demands, including weekends, afternoons, etc.
  • International travel required

Responsibilities
  • Read, learn, understand and interpret blueprints and work instructions, and other instructions written or verbal, to complete assembly of products or components according to established guidelines and quality standards.
  • Provide technical support to continually help improve machine designs.
  • Provide feedback from the knowledge gained in the field.
  • Participate in engineering reviews as required.
  • Work with outside suppliers as required.
  • Provide technical telephone support for customers, dealers as required.
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with customers, dealers.
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose all mechanical issues, approaching each problem systematically.
  • Maintain efficiency and accuracy in diagnosing as well as repairing machinery.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area (including service vehicle) and maintain all equipment according to maintenance plans and established procedures.
  • Repair or replace worn parts ahead of equipment breakdown or damage.
  • Test systems and components to ensure they are secure and are in working condition.
  • Diagnose faults or malfunctions and confirm findings with supervisor to determine appropriate course of action.
  • Travel to customer, dealer locations to perform required maintenance and repair.
  • Drive and operate service vehicle in a safe manner.
  • Complete weekly service checks on service vehicles.
  • Operate fork truck, cranes, and genie boom.
  • Other duties as assigned.
