Job Description CEDA’s shop in Fort McMurray offers a first-class culture of professionals, great equipment and our mandate of doing the work right the first time is the pride we bring to the shop every day. The shift will be either a 7x7 or 14x14, 12hr days based out of our truck shop at 180 MacLennan Cres, in Fort McMurray, AB. Travel and camp will not be provided. Full time, year round work with an excellent team completing all repairs in house, allowing continuous growth and skill development Key Duties and Responsibilities: Preventative maintenance on Hydrovacs, Wet Vaccuum, Combo and Water trucks; High Pressure Water Blasting Equipment, Highway tractors and trailers (Peterbilt, Western Star, Kenworth) Ongoing diagnostic and repair of diesel engines & after treatment. (Cummins, CAT, Detroit, and John Deere) Hydraulic & PTO diagnostic and repair Clutches, transmissions & differentials Vacuum pump & blower repair Burner diagnostic & repair Commercial Vehicle Inspections Troubleshoot issues, inspect equipment and replace or repair defective parts Interpret work orders Work alongside apprentices and delegate work Attend daily tool box and safety meetings as scheduled and adhere to corporate and site safety regulations. Role Specifications: Heavy Equipment Technician Journeyman required (On-Road) Valid Class 5 drivers licence with no more than 5 demerits in the last 3 years is required Class 1 or 3 drivers licence would be an asset CVIP licence, or able to achieve a CVIP licence Experience in hydraulic, electrical, and pump systems is an asset Able to provide a negative pre-employment drug and alcohol test Must be able to provide your own tools Skills: You’re happiest working in a team, sharing a laugh with your coworkers and getting the job done safely You’re meticulous – you have no problem completing the required paperwork for projects and jobs Good communication skills, enjoy doing precision work, and solving problems Your knowledge of Cummins, CAT and John Deere engines would set you up for success Additional Information The above statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed.
