Paradox Access Solutions is seeking a Heavy Equipment Technician to join our team!
JOB TYPE: Full-time, Permanent
WAGE: $40.00 – $50.00 per hour + Tax-free Tool Allowance
LOCATION: Acheson, AB, Monday to Friday

DO YOU HAVE WHAT IT TAKES? (REQUIREMENTS)

  • Must have between 5 – 10 years of experience as a ticketed or Journeyman Mechanic.
  • Experience working on Dozers, Excavators, Loaders, Skid Steer and a variety of heavy-duty equipment.
  • Mechanic experience with heavy trucks and trailers.
  • Asset if a Red Seal Journeyman Heavy Equipment Technician.
  • Asset if already CVIP certified.
  • Welding capabilities.
  • Experience with routine maintenance operations.
  • Able to work well under pressure.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Must have a toolbox and basic tools (up to and including ½” driver socket set) sufficient to perform servicing and repairs.
  • Physically able to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Successfully pass a drug and alcohol and health assessment tests.

Responsibilities
  • Perform preventative, planned and unplanned maintenance, diagnose and repair overhaul on equipment, heavy trucks and trailers according to company standards.
  • Ensure all equipment, heavy trucks and trailers are continually maintained at the highest standards, and in a timely manner, resulting in proper function and availability for use.
  • Properly completing all required paperwork in detail and in accordance with establish procedures.
  • Demonstrate continuous effort to improve operations, decrease turnaround times, and streamline work processes.
  • Diagnose defects in heavy duty equipment.
  • Inspect, repair and adjust gasoline and diesel-powered units.
  • Perform incidental welding operations on equipment.
  • Perform mechanical repairs on equipment in the shop and road calls when required.
  • Accurate completion of work orders and timesheets.
  • Repair cooling, and lubrication systems.
  • Install and align engines on machinery.
  • Repair mechanical transmissions, drivetrains and final drives.
  • Test repaired equipment for proper performance.
  • Maintain a working knowledge of changes in technology and repair techniques.
  • Perform other mechanical repair work as required.
  • Perform daily safety and maintenance checks.
  • Ensure a safe work environment by following policies and procedures on quality, health, safety, and environment.
  • Other duties may be assigned as required.
