Join us at the NexGen Energy Uranium Mine – Rook I Project, located on the stunning shores of Patterson Lake in Northern Saskatchewan. As part of our team, you’ll contribute to a long-term, seasonal earthworks project that is expected to span multiple years, operating approximately from May through November each year.

This opportunity offers a 3-weeks-on / 2-weeks-off rotation, with accommodations and meals provided in a brand-new camp facility. Camp amenities include a gym, TV room, games room, outdoor volleyball courts and gear, waterfront patio, water sports, and fishing access. Transportation is provided from La Loche to the worker camp.

  • Overtime is paid after 8 hours per day.
  • Travel allowance available for non-local personnel.
  • Preference will be given to qualified members of the Clearwater Dene Nation and the La Loche community.

Weaver Group currently has an opening for a: Heavy Equipment Technician

POSITION SUMMARY

Reporting to the Field Supervisor, the Heavy Equipment Technician will be required to perform diagnoses and repairs on Heavy Duty Equipment. Knowledge of small engine repairs would be an asset.
Equipment will range from excavators/dozers/graders/packers/rock trucks/tractor trailer units/skid steers/aerial lifts.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Red Seal Heavy Equipment Technician or Heavy Duty Mechanic Journeyman Certificate preferred (apprentices will be considered).
  • Must have own tools.
  • Valid class 5 driver’s license, Class 1 or 3 would be considered an asset.
  • Current CVIP License, or willingness to obtain, is an asset.
  • Able to pass pre-employment drug, alcohol, medical and physical screening.
  • Basic computer skills, including use of email, Microsoft Word, and OEM software.
  • Capable of working in a high-pressure environment safely.
  • Able to present information and respond to questions from co-workers, managers.
Responsibilities
  • Inspect, troubleshoot and repair various mechanical issues.
  • Maintain organization and cleanliness in shop and own work area.
  • Comply with OHS legislation in addition to other municipal, provincial, or federal legislations.
  • Report any safety concerns to the site Supervisor immediately
  • Report machinery defects or malfunctions to the shop foreman
  • Complete detailed and concise work orders.
  • Communicate with parts department / shop foreman to requisition parts, materials and equipment as needed.
  • Road test vehicles when required.
