Z’gamok Construction LP (ZCLP) is recruiting a hard-working, self-motivated individual with a proven record of safety and reliability to fill the position of Heavy Equipment Technician.
The Heavy Equipment Technician will be responsible for performing repairs, troubleshooting, adjusting, overhauling and maintaining mobile heavy-duty equipment.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Valid Class G Driver’s License; willing to upgrade to DZ License.
  • Heavy Equipment License or 310T Truck and Coach License
  • Knowledge of CAT ET and SIS systems is an asset
  • Knowledge of CAT and JOHN DEERE engine and def system is considered an asset
  • Knowledge of PACCAR MX Engines and Cummins Engines is an asset
  • Knowledge of Kenworth/Peterbilt systems is an asset
  • Knowledge of working on crushers and screening plants is considered an asset
  • Strong electrical and/or mechanical repair knowledge
  • Exceptional attention to detail and organized
  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work both independently with little supervision, and as part of a team
  • Must be able to work under pressure
  • Ability to follow safe working procedures

Responsibilities
  • Check bulldozers, loaders, graders and other heavy construction and mining equipment for proper performance and inspect equipment to detect faults and malfunctions
  • Responsible for diagnosing technical or mechanical problems and performing repairs.
  • Test repaired equipment for proper performance and to ensure that work meets manufacturers’ specifications.
  • Testing components, service attachments and replacing parts as necessary.
  • Clean, lubricate and perform other routine maintenance work on equipment.
  • Complete work order forms and other required documentation for assigned jobs.
  • Conduct tasks assigned, maintaining communication and providing updates as needed.
  • Actively communicate with the purchasing department to ensure required parts are ordered, including tracking orders and following up when required.
  • Maintain organized and tidy work environment including required tools for the job.
  • Complete and maintain proper documentation as needed.
  • Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times.
  • Comply with all company policies and procedures.
  • Work in accordance with all local health and safety laws and regulations.
  • Other duties as assigned.
