Job Title: Heavy Gauge De-Coiler Machine Operator
Company: USP Steels Ltd
Working Pattern: Morning shift (6:00 AM – 2:00 PM), with the possibility of rotation
Contract Type: Permanent, full-time (40 hours per week)
Overtime: Offered when production demand requires, including some weekends
Holiday Entitlement: 25 days plus statutory UK bank holidays
Position Overview
USP Steels Ltd is looking for an experienced operator to run our heavy gauge de-coiler line, working with steel thicknesses ranging from 3mm to 20mm. The successful candidate will be instrumental in ensuring production efficiency and maintaining excellent product quality within a busy manufacturing setting.

Main Duties

  • Operate and control the de-coiler line in a safe and efficient manner
  • Monitor equipment performance and help achieve production output targets
  • Carry out quality inspections and log results electronically
  • Follow Health & Safety policies and maintain 5S workplace standards
  • Take responsibility for the smooth running of the line and product quality

What We’re Looking For

  • At least 2 years’ hands-on experience within a production or steel-processing environment
  • Prior knowledge of working with steel coil or sheet metal is essential
  • Competence in using overhead cranes (a licence is required; training can be arranged if necessary)
  • Strong understanding of safety procedures in a manufacturing setting
  • A dependable, team-focused approach with good communication skills
  • Flexible and willing to learn new skills as required
