We are seeking an experienced Superintendent to join our dynamic team and lead our projects to success.

JOB SUMMARY

We are looking for a skilled and motivated Superintendent to oversee heavy highway construction projects from start to finish. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in civil construction, with expertise in takeoffs, as-builts, plan reading, estimating, scheduling, project management, surveying and 3D surface models. This role requires exceptional organizational and leadership skills to manage crews, coordinate subcontractors, and ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest standards.At least 5 years of experience, ability to travel within the Pacific Northwest, valid driver’s license, and knowledge of OSHA/MSHA regulations.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Superintendent in heavy highway or civil construction, with a proven track record of managing projects in multiple states.
  • Technical Skills: Proficient in performing takeoffs, interpreting as-builts, reading plans, estimating costs, and using Topcon surveying equipment and 3D models for project planning and execution. Familiarity with scheduling software (e.g., Primavera, Microsoft Project) is a plus.
  • Leadership: Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and direct diverse crews and subcontractors.
  • Organizational Skills: Exceptional organizational abilities to manage multiple tasks, prioritize effectively, and maintain accurate project documentation.
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to coordinate with project stakeholders and resolve issues efficiently.
  • Travel: Willingness to travel to project sites across Idaho, Montana, Washington, and Oregon as required.
  • Certifications: Valid driver’s license required. OSHA 30, First Aid/CPR, or other relevant certifications are preferred.
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; a degree or coursework in construction management, civil engineering, or a related field is a plus.

Responsibilities
  • Project Oversight: Manage all aspects of heavy highway construction projects, including roadways, bridges, and related infrastructure, ensuring compliance with plans, specifications, and safety regulations.
  • Takeoffs and Estimating: Perform accurate material takeoffs and assist in preparing cost estimates for bidding and project planning.
  • Plan Interpretation: Read and interpret construction plans, blueprints, and specifications to guide project execution.

  • Surveying and Modeling: Utilize Topcon surveying equipment for precise project layout and verification. Leverage AGTEK models for earthwork analysis, quantity takeoffs, and project planning.
  • Crew Management: Lead and supervise construction crews, fostering a culture of safety, productivity, and teamwork.
  • Subcontractor Coordination: Oversee subcontractors to ensure quality work and adherence to project timelines and specifications.
  • Organization and Communication: Maintain clear communication with project stakeholders, including owners, engineers, and inspectors, while keeping detailed project records.
  • Problem Solving: Identify and resolve project challenges promptly, ensuring minimal impact on timelines and budgets.
  • Safety Compliance: Enforce strict adherence to safety protocols and regulations, conducting regular site inspections to maintain a safe work environment.
