About the role We are seeking a Heavy Machine Operator to join our team. This role is responsible for installing, removing, maintaining, and repairing piers, boat lifts, and related marine structures. The position involves welding steel and aluminum components, operating heavy equipment, and performing hands-on fieldwork in a variety of weather conditions. This individual will play a key role in ensuring marine construction projects are completed safely, efficiently, and to high-quality standards. What you'll do Operate heavy machinery including excavators, bulldozers, cranes, and loaders to support construction and marine projects. Perform precision tasks such as grading, trenching, digging, and material handling using heavy equipment. Assist in the construction, maintenance, and dismantling of docks, piers, boat lifts, and other marine structures. Load, unload, identify, and distribute building materials and equipment for daily operations. Conduct routine inspections and basic maintenance of machinery to ensure safe and efficient operation. Assist with site preparation and overall project setup. Demonstrate strong welding and fabrication skills. Read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings accurately. Apply knowledge of various welding techniques and equipment while maintaining quality standards. Follow all safety procedures and guidelines to maintain a safe work environment. Collaborate effectively with team members to complete projects on time and within specifications. Work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Valid driver’s license required. CDL A preferred. Proficient in operating heavy machinery. Previous experience welding steel and aluminum. Previous experience in a marine or construction environment is highly advantageous. Ability to swim and comfort working on or near water. Familiarity with hand tools, basic carpentry, and machinery. Boaters Safety. Certification in CPR and first aid is a plus. Work Behaviors: Quality of Work Consistently produces accurate work.
