Description
Description Purpose: The Heavy Truck Paint and Body Technician is responsible for all aspects of truck and trailer body maintenance and repair, including but not limited to the adjustment and replacement of truck and trailer equipment including fiberglass repair, sheet metal repair, composite bonding, welding/fabricating, frame straightening/alignment, surface paint preparation, and more. Essential Functions: Perform all job duties in accordance with company safety, environmental, and operational policies without exception. Ensure compliance with all safety regulations, environmental standards, and company policies. Perform all levels of heavy-duty truck and trailer collision repair services. Examine and identify parts required for repair of heavy-duty truck and trailer units. Dismantle and reassemble heavy equipment using hoists and tools. Perform preventative maintenance and complete all refinish operations as described in the work order. Thoroughly mix, color match, and refinish each vehicle to restore it to pre-accident condition. Consistently utilize all required safety equipment and properly dispose of hazardous waste. Review body work for quality and completeness and test equipment after repair or assembly to ensure proper performance. Perform other duties as assigned. Requirements Minimum Requirements: High school diploma or GED. 2+ years of experience with heavy-duty truck/trailer body repair preferred. Completion of a vocational or other post-secondary training program preferred. Trailer body and/or welding and fabrication experience. Must have own tools (larger equipment/tools will be supplied by the company). Ability to operate heavy duty equipment. Time management skills. Basic computer skills. Physical Demands: Ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs. from floor to waist height. Ability to carry minimum of 50 lbs. over a 5-foot span. Ability to push/pull a minimum of 50 lbs. across a 10-foot span. Ability to lift a minimum of 20 lbs. from waist to shoulder. Use their hands to handle, control, or feel objects, tools, or controls. Ability to stand for long periods of time. Ability to bend or twist body without restriction. Ability to kneel, stoop, crouch, or crawl. Ability to work in extreme weather, including but not limited to high heat, low temperature, and high sun environments.
