REQUIREMENTS:

  • Valid heavy vehicle driving license (as per local regulations).
  • Minimum 5 years of experience as a heavy vehicle driver.
  • Good knowledge of routes, traffic rules, and driving regulations.
  • Basic mechanical knowledge to handle minor vehicle issues.
  • Good communication and time management skills.
  • Ability to work in shifts, including weekends or holidays if required.
  • Physically fit and alert.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Familiarity with GPS or route planning systems.
  • Experience driving in [urban/rural/long-haul/off-road] conditions, depending on job specifics.
  • Previous experience in logistics, Auction, construction, or industrial environments.

Responsibilities

JOB PURPOSE:

To operate heavy vehicles (such as trucks, trailers, buses, etc.) for the safe and timely transportation of goods, materials, or passengers, in compliance with traffic regulations, safety standards, and company policies.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Operate assigned heavy vehicles safely and responsibly.
  • Perform pre-trip, en-route, and post-trip vehicle inspections and report any issues to the supervisor or maintenance team.
  • Transport goods or passengers as per the assigned schedule or instructions.
  • Ensure the proper loading and unloading of cargo, following weight limits and safety protocols.
  • Maintain accurate records of deliveries, mileage, fuel consumption, and any incidents during duty.
  • Comply with all traffic laws, company safety standards, and road regulations.
  • Maintain cleanliness and basic upkeep of the vehicle.
  • Report any accidents, delays, or violations immediately to the concerned authority.
  • Follow assigned routes and schedules, unless alternative directions are given.
  • Cooperate with warehouse, logistics, or operational staff for loading/unloading or delivery coordination.
