As a Heavy Vehicle Mechanic, you’ll use your technical expertise to carry out repairs, preventive maintenance and diagnostics on trucks. You’ll work closely with a skilled workshop team to ensure safe, efficient and reliable operations that keep the airport moving. A snapshot of what you will be doing here: Utilise your technical skills and experience as a tradesman to conduct repairs and preventive maintenance of ground support trucks. Perform servicing, diagnostics, repairs and maintenance to a high trade standard. Carry out preventive maintenance inspections and accurately record service data. This role operates largely in a field service capacity. Report daily to the Shift Supervisor and operate under the direction of the State Operations Manager. Promote and maintain a strong safety-first approach in all tasks. Collaborate with fabricators, technicians, and assistants to develop and implement effective solutions. Use your broad mechanical knowledge and problem-solving skills to support the maintenance of truck fleet. Who we're looking for: Relevant Mechanic Trade Qualification. Have your own tools. Exposure to diesel engines, hydraulic systems and electrical fault finding is highly regarded. Hold a current and valid Driver's License. A strong focus on safety standards and relevant company policies & procedures. Experience working within procedural guidelines. Good communication skills and proactiveness. A positive attitude and proactive mindset, with the ability to work autonomously as well as being a good team player.
