Description

We are the University of Cumbria, for and from Cumbria and our localities, rooted in serving our communities, with people, place and partnership at our heart.
Now is a very exciting time to be joining us because we are delivering a new “Towards 2030” strategic plan focused on making the most of our three most valuable assets; People, Place and Partnerships, to become a catalyst for economic well-being for our region, nationally and internationally.
Hello Future is the regional partner for Office for Students based in Cumbria. Delivering outreach work across Cumbrian schools since 2017, we are working closely with local schools & colleges to build effective relationships to raise awareness of Higher Education (Level 4 and above study, including apprenticeships).
The position of Hello Future Graduate Intern offers recent graduates an exciting opportunity to gain valuable work experience as members of an ever changing and evidence based educational outreach team.
Throughout the role you will be supported to develop professionalism, technical competence, excellent interpersonal and networking skills, and the ability to work independently.
You will play a key role supporting our work to meet agreed targets and objectives, working with currently under-represented groups in Higher Education and with a wide range of stakeholders including schools, colleges, employers and third sector organisations. You will need excellent communication and digital skills plus experience of delivering presentations and workshops to a range of audiences.
You may be required to work such additional/different hours as may from time to time be necessary for the proper and efficient delivery of their duties which may include evenings, weekends and bank holidays.
This role requires satisfactory clearance by the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) at an enhanced level.
Informal Enquiries: Jack Todd | Hello Future Area Officer – Barrow | jack.todd@cumbria.ac.uk
We offer a comprehensive set of staff benefits which includes a competitive salary, 35 hour full-time working week, 33 days holiday plus bank holidays, hybrid working in line with business need, and an excellent pension scheme with 8% employer contribution.
