HELP DESK SUPPORT SPECIALIST

About the Position
An Help Desk Support Specialist provides technical assistance to users, troubleshooting and resolving hardware, software, and network issues. This role involves managing technical tasks, installing and maintaining systems, and training onsite and remote users on all technologies. This position will require in-office work at the Breese Illinois Headquarters.
A Help Desk Support Specialist provides technical assistance and support to users experiencing IT issues. Their duties include troubleshooting hardware and software problems, answering inquiries, and guiding users through solutions. They also document issues and resolutions and may escalate complex problems to higher-level support. This position will require in-office work at the Breese Illinois Headquarters.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Guide employees remotely and in person through systems configuration, troubleshooting, and maintenance.
  • Listen to employees’ questions and concerns and offer optimal solutions.
  • Respond to inquiries via email, through online chats, over the phone or in person.
  • Perform technical support for desktops, laptops, printers, mobile devices and applications.
  • Support new hire onboarding by setting up accounts, provisioning hardware/software and ensuring all IT resources are configured properly.
  • Assist with user account administration.
  • Install, configure, and update software and operating systems.
  • Work with outside service/product providers to learn and support products and services available to the organization.
  • Participate in IT projects, including system upgrades, deployments, and rollouts.
  • Identify recurring problems and contribute to knowledge base development.
  • Ensure compliance with IT policies, procedures, and best practices.

Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree preferred in Computer Information Systems. Extensive relevant experience of five (5) years or greater may be considered in lieu of degree. Demonstrated elevated level of integrity required.
