Description

The St. Louis Public Library is seeking a Help Desk Technician to join the Technology Department. The Help Desk Technician is responsible for providing Level 1 support to Library staff. We are looking for an ideal candidate who is willing to learn everything and are enthusiastic about helping people. In this role you will: * * Respond to incoming telephone calls and Help Desk ticket requests from users experiencing problems with hardware and other equipment. * Respond to incoming telephone calls and Help Desk ticket requests from users experiencing problems with basic software. * Provide basic support for problems with desktops, laptops, Chrome devices, printers, scanners, mobile devices, etc. * Thoroughly document troubleshooting progress in ticketing system * Troubleshoot issues before escalating tickets to the next level of support * Image and install new computers * Follow surplus procedures for equipment that is no longer needed * Maintain an accurate inventory of technology equipment * Complete other duties as assigned You will need to have: * * Associate’s degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school * 1- 3 years of Technology work experience required * CompTIA A+ certification preferred * Excellent written and verbal communication skills and an ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical users * An ability to prioritize and multitask, troubleshoot, and problem solve * Strong organizational skills and attention to detail * An ability to work well as a team member * A dependable vehicle for the purpose of responding to support calls at all St. Louis Public Library locations.
