It's more than a career, it's a calling WI-Agnesian Health Plaza Bldg B Worker Type: Regular Job Highlights: Department: Hemodialysis Location: Health Plaza Bldg B 305 Camelot Dr Fond du Lac, WI 54935 Position Details: Weekly Hours: 20 Schedule Type: 10/hr Days Hours: Earliest start time 5:15am to latest 4:30pm Weekend Rotation: Every 3rd Saturday; plus Holiday rotation General Job Responsibilities: The Hemodialysis Technician supports dialysis treatment and initiation and termination of hemodialysis, by preparing equipment, monitoring patients during procedures, and ensuring a safe and clean environment. Duties include setting up and operating dialysis machines, observing and documenting patient responses, maintaining infection control standards, and assisting with patient care under the supervision of clinical staff. Job Summary: Provides direct or indirect care to a varying number of patients and performs various functions associated with hemodialysis treatments independently and under the direction of a registered nurse. Job Responsibilities and Requirements: PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES Prepares patients for procedures by taking vital statistics and reviewing dialysis orders and lab work. Sets up and monitors equipment for procedures both during and after. Notes and documents patient's condition during procedure via observation, interview and monitoring of vital statistics; reports abnormal assessment findings. Contributes to the assessment of patients by collecting data for analysis by an RN. Obtains, processes and transports blood samples and culture specimens as ordered. Demonstrates proficiency in performing dialysis treatments and in cannulation of vascular access. Monitors and trouble shoots dialysis machine and RO/water system. Participates in quality improvement activities to include collection of data and machine maintenance. Works in a constant state of alertness and safe manner. Performs other duties as assigned.
