Description The Healthcare Emergency Preparedness Coordinator supports Region 2 North healthcare partners in strengthening emergency preparedness, response coordination, and communication systems across the regional healthcare network. This position works collaboratively with long-term care facilities, home health and hospice agencies, hospitals, EMS agencies, and other healthcare organizations to improve readiness and response capabilities during public health emergencies and large-scale incidents. The Emergency Preparedness Coordinator assists in planning, training, communication, and emergency response coordination to enhance the region’s ability to manage large-scale healthcare emergencies. Key Responsibilities Assist Region 2 North long-term care, home health and hospice, hospitals, EMS agencies, and other healthcare organizations in developing and strengthening comprehensive emergency operations plans. Supports communication and coordination efforts that enhance regional readiness to respond to incidents involving large numbers of casualties. Assist in planning and facilitation of healthcare preparedness training programs and emergency exercises. Supports regional initiatives to improve emergency response coordination and communication capabilities among healthcare partners. Assist Region 2 North with the use of electronic communication and collaboration platforms such as the R2N website, MI-HAN, EM Systems, MICIMS, and other emergency management systems. Attends and participates in required regional meetings and partner engagements. In the event of a declared emergency, the coordinator must be available to respond on a 24/7 basis as part of the Regional Medical Coordination Center (RMCC) team. Requirements Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in: Emergency Preparedness Healthcare Administration Communications Business Administration Or a related field. Applicants must be presently authorized to work in the United States. Must have and maintained an active driver’s license.
