Job Details Job Location: Hendricks Regional Health Center YMCA - Avon, IN 46123 Position Type: Part Time Job Category: Member Services Benefits Include: Free Y-Membership 20 Hours Per Week of Free Child Care Flexible Hours/Scheduling Retirement Discounted Program Fees Professional Development Under the direction of the Sr. Director of Membership & Wellness, the Program Coordinator is responsible for membership development, recruitment and retention, assisting with program promotions, image and brand building in the community, and member retention events. This position is responsible for the member engagement as it relates to member involvement, member satisfaction and improving the quality of membership services, especially for new YMCA members. Qualifications High School diploma, or its equivalent, is required (minimum Associates Degree preferred) and/or minimum 2-4 years related work experience (customer service, communications or related area). Minimum 18 years of age is required. Must possess outstanding public relations skills, tact, diplomacy, and a clear, courteous and professional manner with people and enjoy a high degree of public contact, both within the YMCA facility and the community. Must possess and demonstrate an understanding of the YMCA movement and its mission. Person will be an advocate for the cause. Maturity and good judgement along with a high level of written, oral and people-oriented communication skills and the ability to work independently and handle numerous projects concurrently is required. Ability to use word processing software, with database and spreadsheet software ability highly desirable. Ability to use desktop publishing for marketing functions a plus. Ability to establish positive relationships with community organizations and corporations in promotion of membership, program and the YMCA mission. Ability to focus in open office space, sharing computer and office with other staff and programs. Ability to manage diverse situations in a fast-paced environment. A proven record of multi-tasking and cooperation with the ability to stay focused during detailed tasks. Ability to acquire and maintain current certifications in CPR AED, First Aid, Safety & Risk Management, Child Abuse Prevention, New Employee Orientation and designated Member Service/Center training, or the ability to obtain within 60-90 days of employment (or time frame determined).
