Henry Ford Academy is a college prep high school (grades 9-12) located inside the Henry Ford Museum of American Innovation & Greenfield Village and surrounded by the campus of Ford Motor Company. Students come from districts within Wayne County, as well as private, parochial, and home schools.
The model partnership focuses some of the best thinking from the business, non-profit, and public education worlds toward the common goal of building a school that prepares students for life in the 21st century.
We are seeking a full-time High School Math Teacher to join our dedicated team of educators for the 2025-2026 school year. In this role, you will facilitate engaging, immersive learning experiences for students of diverse backgrounds and proficiency levels.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Current and valid Michigan teaching certificate with an endorsement in Math (EX)
  • Proven experience with STEM and/or STEAM courses desired but not required.
  • Proven experience teaching students at various proficiency levels.
  • Desire to work with high school students and staff from diverse backgrounds.
  • Experience working with students in individual and group settings.
  • Ability to communicate at various levels with students, parents, staff, and volunteers.

SPECIAL SKILLS/REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to work as part of a team in a public school academy that includes teachers, teacher interns, administrators, support staff and volunteers.
  • Self-motivated, multi-tasking ability; able to stay focused in a distracting, noisy environment; ability to work with people in a positive manner; able to keep sensitive information confidential; able to respond effectively and maintain a calm environment in emergencies.
Responsibilities
  • Design and implement comprehensive lesson plans that meet curriculum and national standards and cater to various learning styles
  • Utilize innovative teaching methods and technology to enhance student engagement and participation
  • Assess student progress through a variety of evaluation methods and provide constructive feedback to support continuous improvement
  • Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes respect for diversity and encourages collaboration
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with students, parents, and colleagues to support student success and well-being
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with best practices in language education
