EDUCATIONAL ASSISTANT

A full time (30 hours/week) Educational Assistant is required to work for the duration of the 2025-2026 school year with a start date as soon as possible.

Skills & Requirements:

• Experience working with students with diverse needs would be an asset
• Preference will be given to applicants with an understanding of childhood development
• Building strong relationships with students, helping students learn, and seeing the best in every student in an inclusive school setting
• Supervision duties (recess, classroom, lunch, etc.)
• Assisting and supporting students through individual support plans and/or behaviour support plans
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with students and adults
• Work as part of a team, take direction and follow student and classroom programs
• Enthusiastic and motivated to help students succeed
• Ability to work in a flexible learning environment and make adjustments for classroom or individual child needs

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Educational Assistant Certificate or equivalent experience preferred
• Experience and/or training working with students in a school setting
• Ability to work with children with varied ages, skills level, needs and abilities specifically early learning to grade 6
• Ability to work within a specialized classroom at times
• First aid would be an asset
