We are seeking a Heritage Consultant to join our London and southeast regional team, to be based in London.
We are seeking candidates who can work as part of a regional team and undertake both independent and collaborative project work mostly within the region, although some longer distance travel and overnight stays may be occasionally necessary.
At least three years of demonstrable experience of working as a successful heritage consultant in a commercial environment is expected, as is a Masters degree (or higher) in a heritage or architecture-related field. You will have experience carrying out archival research and comprehensive significance assessments, producing accurate, well written documents, managing your own workload and running projects. Experience of costing and budgeting for work would be advantageous.

The role
You will work under the supervision of a designated line manager within the Heritage Consultancy team. You will provide heritage advice and guidance to our internal teams and our clients in accordance with local, regional and national heritage planning policy, undertake the research and assessment of historic buildings and sites and compose rigorous analytical reports. You will manage small-scale projects independently, prepare fee proposals for potential projects and contribute to larger bids.
Excellent written and oral communication skills are vital, as is the ability to adapt to a variety of circumstances and perform to stringent deadlines. A can-do attitude, good time management and an ability to engage creatively and originally in all aspects of the job are essential.
