JOB SUMMARY

We are seeking a reliable and skilled class 1 HGV driver to join our team for 6-8 weeks to cover a contract we have been successful in achieving. The ideal candidate will possess a strong commitment to safety and efficiency while transporting goods. This role requires experience in curtain sider trailers and a solid understanding of commercial driving regulations. As a HGV Driver, you will be responsible for ensuring timely deliveries are met.

EXPERIENCE

• Proven experience of 2 years or more as a class 1 HGV driver
• Valid commercial driving licence (C+E) with a clean driving record
• Valid CPC driver card and digital driver cards
• must be over the age of 25 (for insurance purposes)
• Day shifts
• Monday to Friday working
• there will be a minimum of 2 nights a week tramping
• Right to live and work in the UK.
• Familiarity with road safety regulations and best practices in transportation
• Strong organisational skills with attention to detail for managing delivery schedules and paperwork
• Excellent communication skills to interact professionally with clients and team members

• Operate tractor unit with curtain sided trailers safely and efficiently, adhering to all traffic laws and regulations
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure safety and compliance
• Ensuring proper securing techniques are employed
• Maintain accurate delivery logs and documentation
• Communicate effectively with the Transport manager and clients regarding delivery schedules and any issues that may arise
• Follow all company policies regarding safety, vehicle maintenance, and customer service
