HGV CLASS 1 DRIVER (HIAB OPERATOR)

Location: Scotland (Mainland & Islands)
Job Type: Full-time, Permanent
Hours: Monday to Friday, occasional Saturdays, typically 4 nights out per week

ABOUT US:

Bewlake Lift and Haul Ltd is a family-run business with a reputation for delivering specialist lifting and transport solutions across Scotland. We move high, wide, heavy, and long loads using a modern fleet of HIAB lorry loaders, low loaders, and tracked HIAB machines. Our work often takes us to remote islands, mountains, and rugged terrains—no two days are the same!

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Valid UK Class 1 (C+E) licence
  • Driver CPC (up to date)
  • HIAB licence (ALLMI, CITB, or NPORS)
  • Minimum 2 years of HIAB experience
  • Strong plant/machinery operation skills
  • Willingness to travel and stay away up to 4 nights per week
  • FORS training certificates (preferred but not essential)
  • Team player who’s happy to “muck in” on site

  • Drive and operate a variety of vehicles including:
  • Wagon and drag HIAB with fly jib
  • Artic HIAB
  • Artic low loader
  • Tracked HIAB (training provided)
  • Assist with steelwork assembly and site work as needed
  • Solve on-the-job problems with a positive, can-do attitude
  • Work across Scotland, including islands and remote areas
  • Operate safely and professionally in all weather conditions
