Salary: £39,650 per annum
Night Out Allowance: £35pn
Hours: Monday to Friday, with nights out Monday to Thursday

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Valid Class 1 HGV Driving Licence
  • Valid UK Driver CPC Card.
  • Valid UK Digital Tachograph Card.
  • Excellent verbal communication.
  • High levels of Health and Safety standards.
  • Numerate and literate.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with customers and colleagues.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Ability to work under pressure.
  • Experience of multi-drop deliveries.
  • Experience in Strapping of loads
  • Accredited Moffett License would be advantageous, however, training will be provided if you do not.

Responsibilities
  • Ensure the loading of your vehicle that products are safely loaded and secured to minimise chances of damage.
  • Ensure that on arrival the delivery is safe to make and respect customer’s property; if in doubt, consult with customer and/or Transport Manager.
  • Verify delivery instructions obtain signature using in house system.
  • Communicate professionally with customers during pick-up and delivery
  • Handle customer issues on delivery effectively and contact Transport coordinator for assistance if required.
  • Carry out multi-drop deliveries in a timely and safe manner.
  • Drive the vehicle safely and in accordance with the law.
  • Drive within the tachograph law and driver hours limits.
  • Look after the vehicle and ensure that it is not subjected to unnecessary damage.
  • Maintain the cleanliness of the Vehicle.
  • Ensure accidents are kept to a minimum.
  • Report any accidents as soon as possible and in compliance with the company’s accident reporting procedure.
  • Complete vehicle daily inspection using in house system
  • Attend essential training in order to carry out the driver role.
    These responsibilities highlight the critical role Class 1 drivers play in ensuring the smooth and safe transportation of goods across various distances.
