Monday to Friday, with the possibility of alternate Saturday mornings as overtime (to be discussed in interview). Most delivery routes local in and around Yorkshire. Weekly trips to London and surrounding areas or Scotland, so occasional potential for overnights if driving hours are exceeded during delivery journey during the day. Hotel accommodation and meals are provided by the company.
A vacancy has arisen for an experienced and reliable HGV Class 2 Delivery Driver to be based at our business in Sheffield. Birch Distribution is a long-established, family owned, distributor of floor coverings with branches and Trade Counters in Sheffield, Hull and Leeds.
Our Sheffield branch distributes flooring products to account customers in South Yorkshire and beyond. These products include vinyl, carpet, laminate, LVT, underlay and other commercial floorcoverings and accessories.
For the most part this role will involve loading, transporting and off-loading our products to local customer premises, using our own 12 tonne truck. There will also be an element of longer distance driving, including occasional overnights, and general warehousing duties, as and when required by the branch manager.
The successful candidate will need to be professional, a clear communicator and have good interpersonal and customer skills. Our business is successful and growing. Our team here in Sheffield operate a busy branch with a focus on excellent customer service.
Working hours:
7:30 - 17:00 Monday to Friday, with the potential for alternate Saturday mornings (overtime is available)
