Main Purpose of Job:

  • Deliveries to local area maintaining customer service standards and ensuring

compliance with company procedures and relevant legislation

of Job

  • Class 2 LGV licence essential
  • Driver CPC essential
  • HIAB Licence desirable
  • Counterbalance forklift licence desirable
  • Customer service skills essential
  • Experience in delivery driving and local knowledge desirable
  • Health and safety awareness essential
  • Product knowledge desirable
  • Able to work from collection and delivery tickets and pick orders
  • Able to work as part of a team

Main tasks of the job:

  • Ensuring the highest level of customer satisfaction by delivering and, where possible, exceeding customers’ expectations
  • Delivery of building products to customers adhering to all traffic laws
  • Liaising with transport manager to co-ordinate delivery routes, remaining flexible in order to restructure schedules if needed
  • Ensuring that the supporting branch and vehicle paperwork is carried out and that at all times the vehicle maintained to the standards laid down by the Road Transport / Traffic Legislation, and to company instructions –including all pre-operational checklists and defect reports
  • Ensuring vehicle is kept clean and tidy
  • Notifying any possible sales leads to the internal sales team.
  • Loading and unloading vehicles using a vehicle mounted
  • Moving stock both manually and by the safe operation of mechanical handling equipment
  • Maintaining a high standard of general housekeeping
  • Complying with health & safety procedures at all times
  • Reporting to the operations manager any unlawful behaviour

Hours

  • Hours Monday to Friday between 7:30am and 5:00pm
  • Saturdays on a rota basis 08:00am–12:00pm
