JOB DESCRIPTION:

Kenect Recruitment are looking for a HGV2 driver for one of our clients based in Didcot, OX11. Our client is a well-known logistics company delivering on behalf of Crown paints.
This role is mainly to cover just Monday and a Friday but will have additional days available if you are willing to work. This would ideally be suitable for somebody semi-retired looking for a couple of days work a week that may increase occasionally to all week to cover any holiday or sickness. My client has said this will be regular on-going work.
Job Summary:
Delivering Pallets of (mainly) paint to outlets that supply Crown Paints. All vehicles are brand new and have brand new electric pump trucks to unload if destination does not have a FLT to unload. Trucks have curtain sides for FLT unloads. Occasionally will need to collect but these will be at the same site as you deliver so no special collection pickups. This is a very relaxed atmosphere where everybody gets on so a good kind personality is a must.
Shift: 5-6am start. 2-3pm finish Monday and Friday (most weeks with some additional days) - No weekends or Bank Holidays

Duties

• Operate HGV2 truck, to transport goods to designated locations.
• Ensure the safe loading and unloading of cargo, adhering to all safety regulations.
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles to ensure they are in good working condition.
• Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including delivery notes and vehicle maintenance logs.
• Communicate effectively with warehouse staff and customers to coordinate delivery schedules.
• Assist with warehouse duties as needed, including inventory management and stock organisation.
• Demonstrate mechanical knowledge by performing basic maintenance tasks on vehicles when necessary.

Experience

• Proven experience 1yr HGV2 Delivery Driver or in a similar role is preferred.
• Valid driving licence with no more than 6 points for speeding offenses.
• Experience operating curtain sided trucks an advantage.
• Familiarity with warehouse operations and logistics is beneficial.
• Strong communication skills to interact effectively with team members and clients.
