PERSON SPECIFICATION – ESSENTIAL:

  • Valid full driving licence (Category C, with at least 3 years driving experience)
  • Experience of multi-drop deliveries
  • FLT/Manitou certificate
  • Reliable – excellent attendance and timekeeping
  • Flexible in approach to work and delivery schedules
  • Understanding of and commitment to provide the highest standard of customer service

Responsibilities

JOB PURPOSE:

The individual will be responsible for delivering our products safely to our customers whilst representing the Company with a professional approach.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES DRIVER:

  • Adhere to Legislation and Company policies/procedures in line with the duties as a Professional Driver
  • Ensure the legislation relating to the driving and operation of vehicle under the O’Licence are observed. This would include the following:
  • To ensure vehicles are not overloaded
  • The rules on drivers’ hours and Tachographs are observed.
  • To ensure vehicles are kept in a fit and serviceable condition.
  • Defects are reported and recorded in writing.
  • To ensure you are keeping full records for a 15-month period, for all driver pre-use checks, defect reports, safety inspections, routine maintenance and repairs to vehicles.
  • Ensure a professional, efficient service is provided to our customers
  • Safely deliver customer products to the destination within the specified timescales
  • Safely load/unload products onto the vehicle using a FLT and Manitou
  • Maintain standards for Health and Safety, hygiene and security of the work environment, vehicle and products
  • Ensure the Company vehicle is maintained in line with Company standards
  • Liaise with internal colleagues in regards to customer orders and deliveries, ensuring you are aware of any special requirements or restrictions, and you are in receipt of all of the required paperwork
  • Liaise with the site contact to ensure a smooth off-load
