JOB OVERVIEW

An exciting opportunity has arisen at our family run firm which was established almost 40 years ago. We have a need for a HGV & Commercial Vehicle Mechanic / Fitter / Technician who is highly motivated and able to work to their own initiative and as part of a team. The successful candidate will be based in a busy workshop environment and will be required to undertake all levels of maintenance, repairs and major overhauls as well as completing standard servicing, inspections and diagnostics.
The role is Monday to Friday 8am - 5pm.
There is overtime when required.
You will take a turn on call every 5 weeks

EXPERIENCE

The ideal candidate will be fully qualified and experienced within the HGV & Commercial Vehicle Mechanic / Fitter role.
Having a HGV driving licence is beneficial but not essential.
Pay is negotiable for the right candidate, depending on skills and experience.

Responsibilities
  • Ensure that all vehicles are maintained, serviced and managed appropriately.
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks, such as oil changes, tyre rotations, and brake inspections & testing.
  • Diagnose and repair vehicle problems, including engine, transmission, brake, suspension, and electrical issues.
  • Use diagnostic tools and software to identify and resolve complex issues
  • Have the ability to work to specified deadlines.
  • Ensure all compliance details are completed in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Keep accurate records of all work performed and parts used.
  • Communicate with customers about vehicle issues and repair recommendations.
  • Maintain a clean and organised work area.
  • Have good housekeeping skills and a basic knowledge of H&S requirements.
  • Keep up-to-date with the latest automotive technology and repair techniques
  • Be capable of following the repair process from fault analysis to completion
