OVERVIEW

As a LGV Driver you will be using company vehicles to transport materials, products and equipment from place to place, ensuring they arrive in a safe and timely manner. The type of loads can vary from standard in gauge loads, to abnormal loads which could require private or police escort. The role will require you to be flexible, in your approach to working days, time away from home as there will be weekend working. This role requires a strong commitment to safety, reliability, and customer service.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Hold a C+E Driving Licence, no more than six points on licence for insurance purposes
  • Must be over 25 year of age due to insurance purposes
  • Hold a valid and in date Drivers CPC Card
  • Experience of abnormal loads
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Friendly personality with a ‘can do’ attitude

Responsibilities
  • Undertake safety checks to ensure equipment is safe to use and operate, reporting defects or concerns to line manager
  • Driving Large Heavy Goods Vehicles ensuring all driving, rest periods, and working time rules and regulations are met
  • Loading and unloading products, materials and machinery so that they are securely loaded, and safe to travel
  • Operate the vehicle obeying all road traffic legislation, all abnormal load legislations and embargo times
  • Be actively involved with the development of the logistics department
  • Actively undertake training to keep the relevant accreditations up to date
  • Keep allocated company vehicle and equipment clean, tidy and in good working order
