JOB OVERVIEW

We are seeking to employ a skilled Truck Driver with Class 2 licence. You will have a minimum of 2 years experience of commercial driving with this licence. You will have CPC and ideally would have a hiab licence (although this is not essential as training can be provided). A counterbalance forklift licence would be beneficial but is not essential.
The role will involve multi drop deliveries of glass carried on A frames and strapped to the bed of the vehicle. Very often deliveries will be to customer premesis where our customers will offload you. On occasion the hiab fitted to the truck will be used to offload stillages.

EXPERIENCE

Candidates should possess the following skills and experience:

  • Proven experience of a minimum of 2 years in commercial driving with a minimum of a class 2 licence.
  • Experience in shuttle driving, delivery driver roles, or similar positions is preferred.
  • Mechanical knowledge related to vehicle operation and maintenance is beneficial.
  • A hiab licen ce would be beneficial but not essential as training can be providede.
  • Ability to operate manual transmission vehicles effectively.
  • Previous experience in warehouse operations or freight handling is advantageous.
  • Strong communication skills for effective interaction with team members and clients.

Responsibilities
  • Operate commercial vehicles, that will include open top trucks, box trucks and vans from time to time.
  • Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles to ensure safety and compliance.
  • Load and unload cargo using equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and manual handling techniques.
  • Plan routes effectively to ensure timely deliveries while considering traffic patterns and road conditions.
  • Communicate with dispatchers regarding delivery schedules, route changes, or any issues encountered during transport.
  • Maintain accurate records of deliveries, mileage, fuel usage, and vehicle maintenance.
  • Adhere to all safety regulations and company policies while on the road.
  • Provide excellent customer service during deliveries by interacting professionally with clients.
