The HGV Class 1 Driver role is a key position within the Woodlands Power operations team. This is a practical, hands-on role that involves the safe transportation of power generation equipment and ancillary items to customer sites across the UK and, occasionally, overseas.
The role also includes supporting depot operations, assisting with equipment handling, and maintaining high standards of customer service when representing the company on-site.
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
· Valid LGV (C+E) / Class 1 driving licence
· Digital Tachograph card
· Up-to-date Driver CPC qualification
· HIAB / Lorry Loader licence (useful, training provided for the right candidate)
· ADR licence (useful, training provided for the right candidate)
· Experience in a depot-based or transport operations environment
· Full, clean driving licence (maximum 6 points)
· Physically fit and capable of regular manual handling
· Strong commitment to health & safety compliance
· Flexible approach to working hours, including early starts, late finishes, and occasional overnight stays (must also acknowledge & participate in the companies 24/7 operation)
· Carry out the safe delivery and collection of generators and associated equipment across the UK (and occasionally overseas)
· Operate a range of company vehicles, including articulated and rigid flatbeds, HIAB/lorry loaders, and 4x4 vehicles
· Support daily depot operations, including loading/unloading, basic maintenance, and equipment cleaning
· Assist the engineering team with the installation and positioning of power systems on customer sites
· Act as a company representative on customer sites, maintaining a professional and customer-focused approach at all times
· Participate in an on-call rota for emergency deliveries or collections as required
· Undertake regular heavy lifting and manual handling tasks
· Complete all required documentation, including timesheets, delivery records, and vehicle safety checks
· Adhere to all health & safety standards, transport legislation, and company operating procedures
