Walsh Brothers is looking for a reliable and professional HGV Class 1 Driver, ideally with ADR certification (optional), to join our operational team.
This is more than just a driving job - you’ll play a key role in delivering for our customers while also supporting colleagues and contributing to the evolution of our ways of working.

SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE

Essential

  • Valid HGV Class 1
  • CSCS card or Safety Passport
  • Up-to-date CPC License and Digital Tachograph card
  • Clean license
  • Minimum 2 year driving experience
  • Understanding of transport legislation and safety standards

Desirable

  • Water Jetting Ticket
  • Risk Assessment experience
  • Confined space Ticket (Medium or High Risk)
  • Emergency Response Team (ERT) certification
  • Confined Space certification (Medium or High Risk)
  • First Aid
  • Experience supervising or mentoring others
  • ADR license
  • Emergency First Aid

Responsibilities
  • Working with a varied client base
  • Confined Space working, cleaning out of tanks, vessels, silos etc
  • High Pressure Jetting of tanks, pipework and drains
  • Manual handling activities such as job set up, mob and demob
  • Standby Operations
  • General Yard Duties
  • Health and Safety
  • Assisting tanker operations
  • Carrying out CCTV Surveys
  • Emergency Response Team duties during confined space working 24/7
  • Ensure that plant and equipment is operated in a safe and legal manner in full compliance with the relevant company policies, health and safety, quality and environmental legislation
  • Establish great relationships and communications with clients so to up hold our reputation for delivering high quality work and great customer service
  • When required operate all plant and machinery of which you will receive training
  • Follow supervisors instructions with regards to daily tasks
  • On Call Rota
  • You need to be flexible we operate 24/7 so there will be early starts, weekend working and an out-of-hours working across the UK. We will also ask you to work away from home as and when required
