Salary: £42,000.00 plus driver bonus scheme + Cover shift bonus
Department/Location: Operations – Paddock Wood
Working Hours: This role is for a cover driver. Working hours vary to requirments, with shifts starting as early as 2:00-4:00 a.m. or as late as 12:00-2:00 p.m., from Monday to Friday. The position offers a 50-hour work week, which includes a paid 1-hour lunch break each day.

OVERALL ROLE:
To drive the company’s HGV’s in a professional and competent manner and be courteous to other road users at all times. Your main role will be to cover when other team members are absent across 2 x am and 2 x pm rounds and our LGV bin delivery van.
This is a single man only operation so driving and loading will be required. You will be driving to planned collection locations and moving / emptying multiple commercial waste containers, ensuring all information is input into the onboard system and all paperwork is kept up to date and submitted daily. To liaise with the operational management to ensure the most cost-effective utilisation/operation of all Company vehicles.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsible for the implementation of the Lili Waste Health and Safety policy in all vehicle/fleet-related activities.
You will be responsible for ensuring all vehicle checks are undertaken within the company policies and procedures. This will include daily walk around checks, vehicle defect reporting and Nil defect returns.
Have a good understanding of DVSA regulations in terms of vehicle safety, graduated fixed penalties and tachograph use.
Operate within EU drivers’ hours regulations which include adequate daily/weekly rest and maximum weekly driving time.
Operate within the Road Transport Working Time Directive (WTD).
You will be responsible for driving and operating company vehicles within an appropriate manner which includes safe and secure loading practices, safe driving and drive within the Highway Code and current UK speed limits.
Keeping vehicles clean and tidy at all times.
You will be expected to report any incidents or accidents however small immediately or as a minimum at the earliest convenience to the Operation’s Team.
You will be expected to attend any training in-line with the role.
