Location: Bournemouth
Salary: Up to £45,000 per annum (dependent on experience)
Shifts: 4 on, 4 off (Day Shifts)

JOB DESCRIPTION:

We are seeking a skilled and dependable HGV Mechanic to join our team in Bournemouth. This role offers a competitive salary of up to £45,000 per annum and the opportunity to work a 4 on, 4 off day shift pattern, providing you with a great work-life balance. As an HGV Technician, you will be responsible for servicing, diagnosing, and repairing heavy goods vehicles to ensure they operate efficiently and meet industry standards.

KEY REQUIREMENTS:

  • Proven experience as an HGV Technician with a solid understanding of HGV maintenance and repair.
  • NVQ Level 3 in Vehicle Maintenance or equivalent qualification.
  • Strong diagnostic skills with the ability to quickly identify issues and provide effective solutions.
  • A valid UK driving license (HGV license is advantageous).
  • Ability to work efficiently and independently, with a strong attention to detail.
  • A proactive, reliable, and safety-conscious approach to your work.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team.
  • Flexibility to work the 4 on, 4 off day shift pattern.
Responsibilities
  • Perform routine maintenance, inspections, diagnostics, and repairs on HGVs and other commercial vehicles.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical, electrical, and electronic faults in vehicles.
  • Carry out MOT preparations, repairs, and necessary adjustments to meet compliance standards.
  • Complete all work within scheduled timeframes, ensuring high-quality service.
  • Maintain accurate service records for each vehicle, ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards.
  • Support emergency breakdowns and roadside repairs when needed.
  • Collaborate effectively with the workshop team to minimize vehicle downtime.
  • Maintain a clean and organized workshop environment.
  • Assist in mentoring and supporting junior technicians and apprentices.
