POSITION OVERVIEW:

We are looking for a skilled HGV Mechanic to join our team on the day shift in Bedford. This full-time position offers a competitive salary of £46,000 and is perfect for a dedicated mechanic with experience in heavy goods vehicles who is committed to ensuring high-quality standards in maintenance and repair. The successful candidate will play a vital role in maintaining our fleet’s performance and reliability through proactive maintenance and effective repairs.

Carry out thorough safety inspections to ensure all vehicles comply with industry regulations and company standards.Maintain accurate records of all repairs, services, and inspections in accordance with company policies and DVSA requirements.Identify and replace worn or faulty parts as needed, ensuring availability of critical components to maintain efficient workflow.Qualifications and Skills:

• Documentation and Record-Keeping:
• Parts Management:
• Experience:
• Previous experience as an HGV Mechanic or in a similar role, with a solid understanding of HGV systems and repair techniques.
• Certification

NVQ Level 3 in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance or an equivalent qualification is preferred.

• Technical Skills

• Diagnostics and Repair:
• Perform diagnostics and repairs on HGVs, handling a range of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems with precision.
• Preventative Maintenance:

Conduct routine inspections and preventative maintenance to reduce vehicle downtime and ensure fleet readiness.

• Compliance and Safety Inspections:
