JOB TYPE: FULL TIME TUESDAY TO SATURDAY

We are currently seeking a skilled and experienced HGV Fitter to join our team based at our Terrington St John workshop. In this role, the successful candidate will perform truck repairs and maintenance work in accordance with industry standards, run diagnostics on vehicles and work closely with other team members to meet company goals. Further training would be available in the role to strengthen your knowledge and skills.
This is a full-time position with core hours from 7am - 6pm Tuesday to Friday. Every Saturday will also need to be covered from 7am till 3pm. We can be flexible with hours to move start and end hours for example - if you need to start later to finish later.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Experience as an HGV fitter/mechanic.
  • Ability to work unsupervised and manage time efficiently.
  • Full UK driving licence (HGV licence preferred but not essential).
  • Strong understanding of commercial vehicle systems, ideally with Scania experience.
Responsibilities
  • Carry out maintenance and minor / major repairs on our fleet of primarily Scania lorries and a variety of third-party vehicles.
  • Conduct fault diagnosis and troubleshoot mechanical issues.
  • Perform road tests when required (subject to license restrictions).
  • Attend breakdowns using the company van as part of our breakdown rota.
  • Work independently
  • Maintain a clean and safe working environment in the workshop.
  • Complete job cards and service sheets in line with company and customer requirements correctly and one time
  • Report all vehicle defects promptly and clearly.
