EMPLOYMENT TYPE: FULL-TIME, PERMANENT

We’re currently seeking experienced HGV Mechanics/Fitters to join a leading defence manufacturer in Stockport. You’ll be part of the team responsible for the final assembly of Boxer Mechanised Infantry Vehicles, working to the highest standards of quality, safety, and precision. Mechanical Electricians are also highly desired for this role due to the nature of the systems involved.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Proven experience as a HGV Mechanic
• HGV Mechanic Certification (City & Guilds/NVQ or equivalent)
• Level 3 Diploma in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance (advantageous)
• Mechanical electricians also encouraged to apply

• Final assembly of armoured wheeled vehicles and sub-assemblies
• Fault-finding and repair across mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems
• Use of diagnostic software for installation and troubleshooting
• Reading and interpreting engineering drawings and work instructions
• Ordering necessary parts and documenting work using SAP (MRP system)
• Adhering to Health & Safety standards and 5S/housekeeping policies
• Occasional travel for training (including to Germany)
