JOB OVERVIEW

We are seeking a skilled Hgv /Plant Maintenance Mechanic to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of vehicles, Hgv, plant machinery and equipment within our facility.
Octane runs a mixed fleet of Artics, vacuum tankers comprising of Volvos , Scania , Daf , Ford , and Volkswagen vans, 1 to 30-ton excavators, as well as a variety of attachments This role requires a strong understanding of mechanical and electrical systems, as well as the ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues efficiently. The Maintenance Mechanic will play a crucial role in maintaining safety standards and enhancing productivity.

SKILLS

  • Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to diagnose and repair various types of equipment.
  • Proficiency in electrical systems, including logic controllers.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical schematics and manuals.
  • Leadership skills to supervise and mentor junior staff effectively.
  • Excellent customer service skills, ensuring a positive experience for all stakeholders.

  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and repairs performed.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure minimal disruption during maintenance activities.
  • Provide excellent customer service by responding promptly to maintenance requests.
