Due to continued expansion and internal promotion, we are looking for a HGV Rental Fleet and Maintenance Officer to join us and be an integral member of the team and help us in our exciting growth forecasts. The HGV Rental Fleet and Maintenance Officer will be responsible for the complete and accurate management of the HGV Rental Fleet. Financial and administrative responsibility for all Servicing, Maintenance, compliance matters and overall responsibility for vehicle and equipment breakdowns / repairs including managing costs.
As a proactive member of the team, the ideal candidate will be required to contribute towards efficient operations, to ensure high quality customer service. The role will include inspecting our HGV Fleet before and after hires for accurate condition reporting so an eye for detail and knowledge of HGV’s would be advantageous.
Delivering class leading customer service both externally and internally. You will need the ability to prioritise duties and communicate effectively with customers, suppliers and your fellow members within the team at our main depot and our new depots opening across the UK.

EXPERIENCE

  • Proven experience in a similar role with a strong understanding of HGV mechanics and vehicle compliance.
  • Excellent command of English, both written and verbal, for effective communication with team members and stakeholders.
  • Strong IT Skills with sound knowledge of Microsoft packages
  • Previous vehicle rental experience (desired)
  • A Mechanical background (desired)
  • IOSH qualification (desired)

Responsibilities
  • Ensuring that the rental fleet is managed in line with all legal and manufacturer requirements.
  • Handle all Legal/compliance events on all rental fleet vehicles, in line with customer operators’ licence and DVSA requirements, ensuring minimum disruption to customers operation.
  • Responsibility for forward planning all scheduled legal events within relevant set timescales, such as PMI safety inspection, MOT, Meaningful Brake Tests, Crane Services, Tail lift inspections, LOLERS, Tacho calibrations, fridge services, FGAS, thorough examinations, vehicle taxing etc
  • Conduct rental system activity reports for all vehicles, liaising with customers and suppliers, building a working relationship with all internal & external customers & suppliers.
  • Process all documentation and ensure these are scanned / saved and uploaded in a timely manner onto the in house rental systems, use of external data management systems to extract all relevant legal documentations.
  • Compile, interpret and interrogate reports on weekly compliance event. Providing senior management with weekly with compliance overview
  • Lead on customer breakdowns, logging and deploying to relevant supplier. Raising order numbers and managing each breakdown taken to its conclusion and vehicle no longer VOR.
  • Assist in the management of suppliers and raising of purchase order numbers, ensuring costs are controlled following company procedures and guidelines also supplier service level agreements are adhered to.
  • Safety Compliance: Adhere to current health and safety legislation to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Maintaining a safe and tidy working environment within the office, workshops and yard.
  • Reporting, in an auditable and transparent process any vehicle damage, onsite or on delivery of goods.
