We are seeking a skilled HGV Technician to join our dynamic team at AGS-Mercedes Benz Heathrow. The ideal candidate will possess a strong mechanical background and be proficient in the maintenance and repair of heavy goods vehicles. This role is essential for ensuring our customers fleet operates efficiently and safely, contributing to the overall success of our commercial business.

SKILLS

  • Strong mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience in vehicle maintenance.
  • Proficient in equipment repair techniques, including welding and soldering preferably.
  • Ability to read and interpret schematics for troubleshooting purposes.
  • Experience in fabricating parts or components as required for repairs.
  • Familiarity with electrical systems within heavy goods vehicles.
  • Capability to operate forklifts safely preferred but not essential
  • Strong problem-solving skills with attention to detail in all tasks performed.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct routine maintenance and repairs on HGVs, ensuring compliance with safety standards.
  • Diagnose faults using schematics and technical manuals to identify necessary repairs.
  • Perform equipment repairs, including but not limited to welding, soldering, and fabrication tasks.
  • Maintain accurate records of work performed and parts used during repairs.
  • Operate forklifts and other machinery as required for moving vehicles and equipment.
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure timely completion of repairs and maintenance tasks.
  • Assist in training junior technicians when necessary, sharing knowledge and best practices.
