Our HGV/PSV Technician ensures the day-to-day activities of Bristol Airport’s Motor Transport Department are conducted in a safe, efficient, and smooth-running environment. The Motor Transport Engineer provide essential automotive preventative maintenance, repairs, and technical services, ensuring these are of the highest standards.
There are some important things to know before you apply. The role is shift based, meaning you’ll work Four 12-hour day shifts, followed by four days off. Bristol Airport is a 24-7-365 operation, so at times you may work weekends & bank holidays if your shifts fall on these days. Please be mindful of this before submitting your application.

Responsibilities:

  • Complete service and repair maintenance tasks to a wide range of airport vehicles including, but not limited to Ground Support Equipment, Buses, Fire Vehicles, Snow Clearing Equipment and light and heavy vehicles including 4X4’s and Agricultural Equipment
  • Manage and maintain the fleet management system ensuring that all jobs are completed on time, within budget and accurate records kept up to date
  • Collaborate closely with Contractors and Service Engineers in accordance with the Bristol Airport health and safety policies
  • Review and maintain supplies of automotive workshop equipment and spares to ensure continual equipment reliability and reduced failures
  • Assess vehicle and equipment failures to allow for development of suitable plans of action in a cost-effective way.
  • Collaborate with other departments and business partners to feedback relevant information on ongoing issues during assessment periods
  • Assist with emergency repairs, heavy recoveries, and snow equipment repairs
  • Undertake driving duties on and off site to assist with motor transport breakdowns and the collection and delivery of vehicles and specialist parts
  • Provide on-call assistance when required in line with the department’s on-call roster
