DAVITA IS LOOKING FOR A HHD DIALYSIS TECH WITH EXPERIENCE WORKING IN DIALYSIS TO SERVE OUR PATIENTS AT OUR RIDGE PARK AT HOME DIALYSIS IN CLEVELAND, OH.

Looking for an Experienced and Certified Dialysis Technician!
We’re looking for someone with dialysis experience who is open to cross-training for HHD. Flexibility is key since this person will be traveling around the Cleveland region for this role. They’ll also need to be trained to lead kidney smart classes and help educate patients on lobby days. It’s important that this candidate is self-motivated and able to work independently with minimal supervision. Additionally, there will be quite a bit of travel involved, especially if there are group training sessions happening in the area.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must be experienced and certified as a Dialysis Technician
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Must be comfortable working around blood and needles
  • Must be comfortable mixing acid or bicarb
  • Flexibility and availability to work mornings, evenings, weekends and holidays as needed
  • Physical and mental ability to work long hours (some shifts are 12+ hours) on your feet so wear comfortable shoes! Our work ends when it’s safe for our patients.
  • Willingness to train and work across multiple clinics within the territory as needed.
  • Dialysis experience required including: BONENT Certified, Certified Hemodialysis Technician (CHT).
Responsibilities
  • Receives patient into training area or clinic visit exam area; weigh patient, takes temperature and blood pressure pre- and post-dialysis; documents on all dialysis flow sheets or clinic visit sheets; reports abnormal findings to the Home Training nurse. Performs and records vital signs and all other parameters of ESKD patients according to DaVita policy and/or state regulations; obtains blood samples and culture specimens and prepares for shipment.
  • Provides hemodialysis therapy in-center and/or in the training facility including but not limited to: recommends a dialysis plan for ultra-filtration to Home Training nurse; initiates dialysis via approved accesses using proper cannulation techniques; complies with all safety measures; monitors patient vital signs; administers fluid therapy or other appropriate treatments as directed; documents activities.
  • Performs only under the direction of a RN: • Instructs patient in the care of vascular access • Reinforces treatment care with patient • Reinforces training initiated by the nurse.
  • Dismantles, cleans, and disinfects dialysis machines and equipment according to DaVita procedures; performs appropriate end of therapy terminal cleaning and disinfection of the dialysis equipment, prior to redeployment to another
  • Performs clerical duties as needed and reviews with nurse and/or preceptor which may include: filing, lab requisitions, scheduling appointments, answering phones, ordering supplies, billing, copying, faxing, data entry and maintaining patient charts
  • Other duties as assigned.
