EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

• BSc Biological Sciences or equivalent
• Extensive CL2 laboratory experience
• Extensive experience with technical implementing a quality system to a particular application
• Experience with lab management
• Leadership experience of small teams
• Use of computerised LIMS (Laboratory Information Management System)
• Diagnostic laboratory experience
• Experience in handling of confidential information and datasets

The Moredun Group is seeking a High Containment Diagnostic Operations Manager to lead a new unit at the Moredun Research Institute, focused on testing for Bluetongue virus (BTV). Working within a high-containment laboratory (CL3/SAPO3), the successful candidate will serve as the technical lead in developing and implementing ISO17025-compliant and UKAS-accredited molecular diagnostic services. While the initial focus is on BTV, the scope of work will expand to include additional high-consequence pathogens as required.
