This full-time Special Education teaching opportunity serves grades 8 through 12 in a K-12 school setting located in Los Lunas, NM. The position offers a contract through the current school year, ending May 28, 2026, with an immediate start date. Two openings are availableone for an 8th grade special education teacher and one for a high school special education teacher.
Responsibilities include managing a caseload of approximately 18-22 students and delivering tailored instructional support to meet diverse learning needs within middle and high school classrooms. The workweek is Monday through Friday, with students attending half days on Thursdays and professional development scheduled in the afternoon. Daily hours run from 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., providing structured teacher collaboration and planning time.

Ideal candidates will have:

• Valid New Mexico Special Education teaching certification; new graduates may apply with a waiver if certification is pending
• Experience or coursework related to Special Education at middle school (8th grade) and/or high school (grades 9-12) levels
• Strong classroom management and communication skills for working with diverse learners
• Flexibility to engage in ongoing professional development sessions and team meetings

This position is onsite within a supportive educational environment emphasizing personalized student success. Interviews are conducted via Google Meets Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday at 9 a.m. and 12:15 p.m., accommodating urgent hiring needs.
