Job Overview We are seeking a passionate and dedicated High School English Teacher on behalf of our client, a prestigious international school located in Doha, Qatar. The ideal candidate will have a profound understanding of the English curriculum and a commitment to fostering a love for literature and language among secondary school students. You will be responsible for delivering high-quality teaching that encourages intellectual curiosity and critical thinking. Key Responsibilities • Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging and challenging English lessons that are aligned with the curriculum standards. • Foster a positive and inclusive classroom atmosphere that encourages student participation and promotes a high standard of behaviour. • Assess, record, and report on the development, progress, and attainment of students, providing constructive feedback to support their academic growth. • Develop and adapt teaching materials to meet the diverse needs of all learners. • Prepare students for internal and external examinations, ensuring they are equipped with the necessary knowledge and skills. • Communicate effectively with parents, colleagues, and senior leadership regarding student progress and well-being. • Participate in departmental meetings, parent-teacher evenings, and whole-school training events. • Contribute to the wider school community by participating in extracurricular activities. Qualifications and Experience • A Bachelor’s degree in English, Education, or a closely related field. • A recognised teaching qualification (e.g., PGCE, QTS, or equivalent). • Proven experience teaching English to high school or secondary school students (Years 7-13). • Experience with the British National Curriculum, IGCSE, or A-Level programmes is highly desirable. • Exceptional classroom management skills and the ability to create an effective learning environment. • Excellent command of the English language, both spoken and written. • Strong organisational, communication, and interpersonal skills. • A genuine passion for teaching and a commitment to student development.
