Randolph Community Partnership, Inc. (RCP) is a non-profit organization that provides educational opportunities and services in the Randolph area. These programs are funded by grants from the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education and the federal government. Although we are located inside Randolph High School we are NOT a part of the Randolph Public School system.
We are currently accepting resumes for a part-time High School Equivalency (HSE) Math/Science teacher.
The HSE Math/Science Teacher will provide instruction to adults (GLE 6-12) enrolled in RCP, Inc. education programs. Enrolled students are separated into two classes; GLE 6-8.9 and 9-12+. Each class is taught for 1.5 hours.
In addition, s/he will prepare lesson plans and activities for the students. S/he will also work with the other staff to ensure the program responds to the needs of the students it serves.
Our classes run from September through June. Classes meet on Tuesday and Thursday EVENINGS from 6:30pm-9:30pm.
Our offices and classrooms are located in Randolph High School.

EXPERIENCE / QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Education required; Math preferred
  • Valid teaching certificate in math
  • Teaching experience, preferably in Adult Education or High School
  • Ability to work with and motivate adult learners and teach at the pace of students
  • Work with students one-on-one or in large or small groups
  • Ability to communicate effectively with students from different cultures, socioeconomic and educational backgrounds
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Knowledge of another language is helpful but not necessary

Responsibilities
  • Work with all program staff to update and maintain a comprehensive curriculum that coordinates and meets the DESE guidelines.
  • Prepare and submit lesson plans weekly.
  • Teach two 3 hour classes per week.
  • Provide effective classroom management.
  • Work with the Educational Advisor to administer required DESE program assessments three times per year.
  • Work with the Educational Advisor to help students set and meet their educational and career goals.
  • Attend monthly staff meetings, scheduled staff development/professional development activities and required trainings/conferences.
  • Work with other staff and students to plan extracurricular activities.
  • Attend all extra-curricular activities including field trips and community events.
  • Complete other duties assigned by the Executive Director.
