June 5th:                      POWER Youth Summit at Sheraton Music City Nashville Airport June 9th – July 17th:   Youth will report to their employer worksite location on Monday –                                         Thursday or special schedule workday at the time                                          scheduled by employer.  You will be scheduled to work 6.5 hours daily                                       which equals 24 hours per week.   Friday Cohorts:              Youth report to cohort sessions at assigned locations at 8:00am to 12:00noon on Fridays.     July 17th:                     POWER Youth Summer Employment Program.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                  If you are selected as a High School Intern, you will make $15.00 an hour and receive pre-program training and coaching to ensure you have the skills you need on the job. Interns are responsible for providing their own transportation to all orientation, training, worksite, and cohort times. There are opportunities to intern in many areas of Nashville, so please select the opportunity based on your access to transportation. The POWER Youth program, previously known as Opportunity NOW, provides career exploration and work experience activities for youth 14 to 24 years old. The name POWER Youth was selected by the peer youth leadership team based on how they view themselves and their future.
Responsibilities
The intern will assist court staff with daily administrative tasks and observe court hearings to understand judicial decision-making. They will also interact with attorneys and stakeholders to develop professional communication and problem-solving skills.
