Nearest MTA Bus Stop: Buchanan St & 9th Ave N EB Buchanan St & 10th Ave N WB Internship Information: Format: (In-Person Only) In-Person Positions Available: 6 Technology Used: Cash Register Internship Title: Future Hospitality Professionals of Tennessee Internship Description/Learning Objectives: Slim & Husky’s youth internship opportunity is designed to expose youth to real-world hospitality and restaurant operations while developing essential workplace skills. Interns will gain hands-on experience, mentorship, and professional development training in a fast-paced, community-driven environment. Job Duties: * Preparing and cooking pizzas, salads, and cinnamon rolls * Operating a cash register * Educating customers on our menu items, ingredients, and about the Slim & Husky’s brand * Maintaining fast, accurate service, positive guest relations, and ensuring products are consistent with Slim + Husky’s standards * Utilizing the correct tools & procedures to prepare, build and present food properly * Maintaining a clean, neat and well-stocked area so you are ready to serve guests * Performing housekeeping activities to ensure a clean and sanitized environment * Properly labeling, dating, rotating, and storing all food products. * Being a team player supporting and assisting your fellow team members whenever possible * Other duties as assigned and needed Preferred Competencies: * Team player * Excellent customer service skills * Communication skills * Conflict resolution * Time management * Ability to multitask General Information: Work Schedule Days and Hours: M-THUR-10:00am-4:30pm OR 3:30pm-10:00pm Dress Code: Work shirts provided will need nonslip shoes and black pants. Travel Required: None Physical Requirements: Lift up to 25lbs Working Conditions: (example: Office Warehouse, Outdoors, with Children or Animals, etc.) Restaurant setting The full program is June 1st – July 17th June 1st – June 3rd: Interns attend work readiness skills training from 8am – 12pm. June 4th: Attend employer orientation meeting. June 5th: POWER Youth Summit at Sheraton Music City Nashville Airport June 8th – July 17th: Youth will report to their employer worksite location on Monday – Thursday or special schedule workday at the time scheduled by employer. You will be scheduled to work 6.5 hours daily which equals 24 hours per week. Friday Cohorts: Youth report to cohort sessions at assigned locations at 8:00am to 12:00noon on Fridays. July 17th: POWER Youth Summer Employment Program. If you are selected as a High School Intern, you will make $15.00 an hour and receive pre-program training and coaching to ensure you have the skills you need on the job. Interns are responsible for providing their own transportation to all orientation, training, worksite, and cohort times. The POWER Youth program, previously known as Opportunity NOW, provides career exploration and work experience activities for youth 14 to 24 years old. Responsibilities

Interns will prepare menu items such as pizzas and salads while maintaining a clean and welcoming restaurant environment. They are also responsible for operating the cash register and providing excellent customer service.
