HIGH SCHOOL MANDARIN TEACHER (GRADE 12) – ONTARIO SECONDARY SCHOOL CREDIT PROGRAM

Location: Remote (Online Teaching)
Employment Type: Part-time (flexible based on candidate availability)

ABOUT US:

Laureate College is dedicated to providing a dynamic and engaging educational experience for students pursuing their Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD). Our diverse and inclusive learning environment encourages academic excellence and cultural appreciation.
We are currently seeking an experienced and passionate Grade 12 Mandarin Teacher to join our team and deliver high-quality online courses that count toward the OSSD.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Proficiency in the language you want to teach -for this position we need teachers to be bilingual would be an asset - English & Mandarin
  • Bachelor’s degree in education, Chinese Language, Linguistics, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
  • Experience teaching high school Chinese, particularly at the Grade 12 level, is a plus.
  • Proficiency in online teaching platforms and tools.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to foster an inclusive and supportive online learning environment.
  • Experience offering comprehensive materials and learning resources to fulfill students’ requirements.

PREFERRED SKILLS:

  • Familiarity with OSSD credit requirements and curriculum guidelines.
  • Experience working with diverse student populations, including international students.
  • Knowledge of modern instructional methodologies and technology integration in education.
Responsibilities
  • Teach Grade 12 Chinese (Mandarin) curriculum in alignment with the Ontario Ministry of Education standards.
  • Develop and deliver engaging, interactive online lessons that meet diverse student learning needs.
  • Assess and evaluate student performance through assignments, projects, and exams.
  • Provide regular feedback to students and parents regarding progress and areas for improvement.
  • Maintain accurate records of student attendance, grades, and performance.
  • Stay updated with best practices in online teaching and integrate technology effectively in lessons.
